ALL THINGS HAIR

Hey Loves!

I often get asked a lot of hair questions and I figured it was time to create a blog post that gives you a real breakdown of my “go to” products that I’m obsessed with. Most of these products I’ve been using for years now whether it’s on myself or my clients. These products are for every nationality and all hair types. I really tried to answer all your questions and provide you with high and low end options. If you have any question or just want to tell my how much you loved this blog post leave me a message in the comment section below. I really hope this helps you guys!

SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER

  • Dae—This line is NEW to my collection! I was drawn to try it because it’s a CLEAN product. It’s Vegan, Cruelty Free, Sulfate Free, and Paraben Free. It made my scalp feel really clean and my hair looked really shiny.
  • Olaplex— I used this line a lot on my clients that frequently got their hair colored. It’s a repair line that helps with breakage and dry brittle hair. It will leave your hair feeling very SOFT, especially if you add the treatment #3!
  • Redken (All Soft)—It’s a very good moisturizing line that works well for dry, brittle hair. I don’t have dry hair, but I love how soft it makes my hair feel! When I blow it out it doesn’t feel weighed down. I love to use this on my son’s hair because I feel like its gentle and it smells really nice.
  • Kristin Ess— I literally talk about this line ALL the time! I just love the way it smells and makes my hair feel. My hair is always so soft and shiny after using this line. It works well for all hair types and the price is GREAT!
  • TRESemme’— This line has been my “HOLY GRAIL”! I have been using this line well over 10 years. I use this line during the summer because I go swimming a lot and I don’t like you using my expensive products daily. I love using this line when I do my at home treatments with ingredients out if my kitchen. It smells AMAZING and it’s an anti-breakage line that leaves your hair feeling so good.
  • Moroccan Oil (Volume)— I will just go ahead and start by telling you that anything from this company smells so GOOD! These are obviously volumizing products, so I think it would work well for someone with fine or thinning hair. I will say that I’m not a big fan of how the shampoo lathers at first, but you have to really scrub the scalp to move it around. Now the conditioner on the other hand is like BUTTER; your hair will instantly feel so amazing!

STYLING PRODUCTS

  • Kristin Ess Instant Lift Volumizing Mousse— I use this on myself and my clients. It really gives you great volume and I apply it on damp hair. Make sure to shake it really well and then massage the product into your roots. It does have a very floral scent.
  • Kenra Blow Dry Spray— I LOVE this product SO much! This is my “HOLY GRAIL” styling product. Every time I blow out my hair, I use this product. It’s a heat protectant, detangles, tames frizz, fights humidity, and cuts down the blow drying time. I used this product all the time on my clients when I was in a salon. Make sure to spray it on the middle of the hair strands down to your ends. It has a little oil base to it, so if you spray it on the roots it could make your hair oily and flat.
  • Wella EIMI Root Shoot— This is another volumizing mousse and this is my FAVORITE of all. I’ve been using it for years and it gives amazing body and volume to the hair.
  • Aveda Smooth Infusion Style Prep Smoother— This is a CLEAN product that really helps tame curly or frizzy hair. You apply it when the hair is damp and then blow dry afterwards. It makes your hair smooth, shiny and it has a 12-hour humidity defense.
  • Living Proof Perfect Hair Day— I really love this product because it has so many great benefits all in one. It will give nice volume while taming your hair. It makes you hair strong, shiny, and most importantly, protects it from heat.
  • Kristin Ess Ultra Light Curl Defining Cream— This product really helps with defining your curls and keeps them soft. You want to detangle your hair and use a t-shirt to dry your hair a little bit. Once done with that step, apply the cream from root to ends. Use your fingers to define your curl pattern with the cream. You can let it air dry or blow your hair dry with medium heat. I love that it doesn’t leave my hair feeling crunchy and it smells amazing!
  • Kenra Thermal Styling Spray— This product is a great heat protectant that really helps shape and hold your hair when styled with any kind of hot tool.
  • Garnier Fructis Curl Sculpt Cream Gel— I love to use this in the summer for a curly defining style that won’t leave my hair crunchy. It has the feel of a gel consistency, but they added a shea butter to make it conditioning for your hair. The best part about this product is that it’s not expensive and it smell really good.
  • Aveda Sun Care Protective Hair Veil— I’m really big on hair protection and this is perfect for someone who stays outside especially during the summer months. It’s basically sunscreen for your hair and it even has a water-resistance defense. Once you spray your hair and go swimmimg in the pool, it’s still protecting your hair. It’s a lightweight mist that will minimize damage and dryness to your hair.

FINISHING PRODUCTS

  • Navy Hair Care Pebble Beach Dry Texture Spray— This product is so GOOD! It gives the right amount of volume without making your hair feel super gunky. It really helps hold your style and it has a fresh scent. It has sunflower seed oil to keep your hair healthy. I also love the fact that it has eco-friendly packaging.
  • Kenra Shine Spray— I often get asked how I get my hair so shiny. Sometimes, this is the trick for me! You have to be really careful with this because if you spray too much it can make your hair oily. I like to use this right after I blow out my hair. I like to spray it into my hand, rub my hands together, and then run my hands through my hair.
  • Toppik Hair Building Fibers— I started using this product a lot after having postpartum hair loss. I normally use this when I’m pulling my hair up in a ponytail, bun, or a half-up hairstyle. I just part my hair in the thinning area and sprinkle it in. Then I take a brush and brush through my hairline to blend it. The only down fall about this is that it gets on my face and in my ears. I recommend apply it before you do your makeup. On the other hand, I love that it doesn’t leave my hair feeling dirty or any kind of build up.
  • Moroccan Oil Luminous Hairspray (Strong Hold)— This is my “HOLY GRAIL” hairspray; I love to use it on myself! I actually use to buy this wholesale for one of my clients for years. She was obsessed with it, so I decided to try it on myself. Now, I’m addicted to it and this has been my first choice for years. It really holds my hair like I want it to! My hair still has movement and it doesn’t leave any crazy build up. Last but not least, it smells fantastic!
  • Kenra Platnium Silkening Mist— I love using this on myself and my clients! I love to use it on my hair after I’ve blown it out and before I style it with a tool. I usually apply this to a beautiful updo or a nice style that I’ve added a lot of hairspray. It gives a nice shine to the hair without weighing it down. I also travel with this on vacation and apply it to my legs as well.
  • Lóreal Magic Root Cover Up— This product will legit cover up your grey hairs and hold you over in between getting color. I love it because it also helps fill in my thin hairline! It does feel a little more wet. When I run my fingers through my hair I can feel it. I normally use it when its close to a wash day because I hate the feeling of gunk in my hair. Other than that, it really does the job and it is such a great price!
  • Kenra Hairspray #9 ( Light Hold)— This really does have a very light hold and it smells kind of like cotton candy. I keep this at home all the time and I use it when I style my hair to lounge around the house. I guess you could call it my “Quarantine Hairspray”!
  • Ebin 24 Hour Edge Tamer— This product is the BEST when it comes to laying your edges or baby hair. It has a nice shine, but it does not flack at all! I love using it when I’m doing any kind of sleek style on myself or my clients. It only takes a small amount and I recommend getting a smaller brush to use with it.
  • Got 2B Glued Blasting Freezing Spray— This product is the REAL DEAL! I always use this when doing bridal and pageant clients because the hair will not move! This is the “go to” product for laying down lace front wigs. This is what I would call my “Event Hairspray” because it keeps everything in place.
  • Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast— This is a really good texturizing product that gives lotsof body. I use it when I want to create my messy, wavy hair and I need to add a little volume. You want to spray it about 10″ away from roots to ends. Then I take my fingers and really shake up my hair to create more volume. I like to use this product when I’m close to a wash day because I feel like I get a little build up. The smell is nice but sometimes it seems too strong on certain days.
  • Kenra Hairspray ( Medium Hold)— I keep this in my personal stash and in my work kit. I have been using this for years and my clients love it! This is my “go to” for my clients after a good blow out. It really holds the curls, but you can still run your fingers through your hair. The great thing about Kenra hairspray is that it’s an aerosol, so it doesn’t spray out wet on to the hair. It smells really good and the prices are great!

TREATMENTS

  • Kristin Ess Reconstructive Moisture Mask— This is a really good sulfate-free mask that hydrates the hair. It’s meant to strengthen, detangle and soften your hair. It’s not super heavy at all and it says to leave it on for like 5 mins. Honestly, I always leave any treatment I do on for like 20-30 mins. This is totally up to you. This product is worth every penny!
  • Aveda Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair— I have been using this for years. You can even apply this before a blow out. This is a leave-in treatment that reduces breakage up to 90% in a week. It detangles and protects your hair from any heat.
  • Redken Extreme Anti-Snap— This product is AMAZING and I used it on all of my clients that had color-treated hair. Whenever I feel my ends getting dry, I apply it before I blow it out. It smoothes the hair cuticle to prevent breakage and protects againt any heat applied to the hair. I swear this product really works and is great to apply to your ends while you sit with conditioning treatment on your hair.
  • Olaplex (No.3) Hair Protector— This is a CLEAN product that you will absolutely notice a difference after one treatment. It reduces breakage and stregthens the hair. All my clients I have ever used it on say their hair looked healthier. It’s a very light-weight treatment that has a big impact on repairing damaged hair.
  • Moroccan Oil Intense Hydrating Mask— This is a very heavy duty hair mask and it would be for someone with medium to thick hair. It’s a thicker consistency than mayonnaise, and it’s a true conditioning treatment. It’s very moisturizing and leaves your hair feeling very soft.
  • Kristin Ess Leave-In Conditioner— This is for all hair types and it adds a nice weightless shine. I just spray it all over while my hair is damp and it helps with detangling. I feel like it adds moisture and a nice shine to my hair.

OILS

When I add oils to my hair it’s usually with a treatment. All of these oils you can use on wet or dry hair. If you apply the oil on dry hair make sure it’s less than a “dime size”! Be sure to focus on the ends of your hair. I noticed when I apply it on my wet hair before blow drying it gives my hair a nice natural shine. I listed and linked these in the order of my most favorite. The reason the Aveda Brilliant Emollient Finishing Gloss is my #1 is because my hair feels amazing after using it, I love the shine that it adds to my hair and it’s a CLEAN product!
