A big part of decorating Kash’s room was adding a fun educational element. I found some really fun things that got him really excited about learning new things. I think a lot of parents are deciding to homeschool this year and I wanted to share a few things I purchased for Kash. I also shared a few things that are still on my wishlist. I hope you guys enjoy this Back To School list.

Our hearts are SO full! ❤️⚾️

Last Saturday Kash was in ICU and this Saturday he’s playing in the semi-finals with his baseball team! Kash was 2 for 3 and had 2 RBI’s. He also received another game ball from his coach!

Seeing Kash be challenged, stick with it through frustration, celebrate EVERY hit ☺️, be a great team player and contribute to each win all in his very first season of baseball …… PRICELESS 💯

We are so grateful for his AMAZING coaches! Next Up….The Championship Game!⚾️🫶🏾

We have had a very unexpected turn of events this weekend. On Friday morning, Kash ended up in the nurse’s office at school so Kasheef picked him up and brought him home. He had this constant cough so I gave him a breathing treatment. Then, 30 minutes later, he vomited three different times. He ended up having diarrhea and began sweating really bad. I checked his oxygen/ heart rate at home on the oximeter and decided to take him to urgent care around 7:45pm. They ran a few test that came back negative and gave him another breathing treatment. Then as soon as we pulled out of urgent care, he started vomiting again and we decided to go to the ER. We arrived at WellStar Kennestone Hospital and his oxygen hit as low as 83 when it should be between 95-100. They tried to admit him into ICU but they were at capacity. It was too dangerous to take him off oxygen so they had him transferred by ambulance to Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital at about 5:30am Saturday morning. They ran more test and x-rays and found out that he had the Rhino virus and suffered from a severe asthma attack. After hours of being there, they realized that they too had no bed’s available in ICU. Our only option was to have him air lifted by helicopter to a hospital in Macon, GA. They also couldn’t confirm whether one parent could fly with him. We had to make the decision whether to get a head start in the car, leave him there at the ER or wait to see him off in the helicopter. Thankfully at the last minute after getting my weight and more information, I was cleared to fly with him. Kasheef saw us off and then got in the car to catch up with us at Navicent Medical Center. We arrived at like 12pm and all of the nurses/ doctors were waiting for us in ICU. They got right to work with treating the virus, breathing treatments, monitoring oxygen levels and his heart rate. By 2:30pm, they completely took him off of the oxygen support and he was breathing on his own again. The doctor said if he can go 12 hours without oxygen support then he can be released. He said that nights are usually the hardest and that things can take a turn. Well last night he did GREAT and we’re headed HOME! Finish in Comments👇🏽

When we met you had just turned 21 and now you’re 38 today! The time really does fly by so fast. I have watched you evolve in so many areas of your life. You are doing the most AMAZING things with your career and helping so many people. Together our journey has been quite the adventure that I would not change for the world. I admire you, I’m proud of you and I love getting a front row seat to what God is doing in your life. The thing I LOVE THE MOST is watching you be a phenomenal dad to Kash. You are kind, gracious, resilient, and you are THE HARDEST working person I know. I look forward to sharing many more birthdays with you. 38 is going to be CRAZY….You’re on 🔥

On Tuesday, Kash played in a season-opening baseball game! Not only was it the first game of the season, it was his first game ever!

We signed him up thinking this would be something fun that he could do with his best friend, Marco. Then we found out that they did not make the same team. We were a little nervous that he wouldn’t want to do it without him. To our surprise, Kash has been all in! He loves it, but most of the kids have a little more experience than him. He hasn’t let that discourage him and not once has he wanted to quit. We got him a batting cage and tee stand to practice at home.

His last practice was kind of rough and he didn’t hit one ball. Luckily we were able to get him a private lesson to practice batting on the day before his first game!

Then game day rolled around and Kash did AMAZING! His coach awarded him the game ball for the first game of the season.

Now the kicker of all of this was that Kash’s first game was against his best friend. Not only was Kash awarded the game ball, but so was his best friend Marco. His coaches acknowledged him and he had an AMAZING day too!

It was a day we will never forget! It was SO special and lots of “happy tears” as Kash likes to call it. 🤍

One of the things I love most is being out in my yard cutting grass. I will throw in my headphones, turn on a good playlist, and vibe out! It’s my time to think and it’s kind of therapeutic for me. Honestly all the influential women in my life all get out in their yard and cut their grass. We all love having a beautiful yard and really take pride in it! I was raised out in the country and that’s all I remember was all the women getting out and doing yard work.

Now it’s become something that Kasheef and I both love, appreciate, and take pride in. We’re also really obsessed about our plants. This heat has not been on our side this year. I’m officially ready for Fall now!🍁

Happy 11th Anniversary 🤍

The time really does fly by so fast! We met 16 years ago and now we’re celebrating our 11 year anniversary. Marriage is never easy but I think it’s all about finding your person that you feel like it worth fighting for. It’s all about having unconditional love, respect, open communication, and giving each other grace. I look forward to creating more memories, achieving all of our dreams and evolving together.

Kash’s first day of 1st grade! 🤍

We walked our little guy to class this morning and he was so brave. We chose a place where he can thrive, gain independence, be challenged, loved, and really grow in so many ways. We left him this morning feeling a sense of peace and comfort because we chose the best place for him. No tears but lots of smiles, hugs, and kisses today!
